I have written about some of these issues below.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. The Bald Patch&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2. My height&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3. My weight&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;4. The stutter&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;5. My lack of belief in myself&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;6. My career&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;THE BALD PATCH&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Even though to some people it may seem trivial, I was born with a bald patch the size of a ten pence piece. As I went through childhood and especially the teenage years I became more and more self-conscious and paranoid about it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It was especially noticeable when it rained or when I went swimming as my hair would become wet. People at school would ridicule me and I was forever trying to hide and cover the bald patch even though most people knew about it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It hurt when people laughed at me and eventually I stopped going swimming altogether.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;MY HEIGHT&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Out of all of my close male family and friends, I am the shortest at 5ft 4. This probably should not influence my confidence however with people continually looking down on me it did. I have been called many names, the nicest being “Shorty”.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I was always jealous of other people taller than I was. I hoped that one day I might have a late spurt. This never came.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My height affected me with sport. I wanted to be a striker at football however the coaches only wanted people over 6ft tall. At snooker I am constantly have to use the rest which makes it difficult to play up to the best standard and at tennis I was constantly being lobbed. It also meant that I only felt comfortable dating women 5ft 3 and under which reduces the available market considerably.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;MY WEIGHT&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;During senior school I was very thin. This may have been the result of my parents turning vegetarian when I was twelve. At the time there were very few replacement foods and it seemed as though we went from having meat and two veg to just two veg.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As my parents cooked the food I had little option but to also turn vegetarian. After a few weeks I approached them and told them that I missed and wanted to eat meat. They were understanding to a degree and said:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;“If you want it, you cook it”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;At this age I could only really be bothered to cook properly a few days of the week and that gradually became less and less.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;People at school would call me names like skin and bone and my weight became another area of paranoia for me.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;THE STUTTER&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;At the age of four I developed a stutter. This became gradually worse as I became older even though my parents were told that I would grow out of it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For what fluent people would class as simple tasks like reading from a book at school, answering questions, saying my name and address, ordering items at the bar or in a restaurant, and speaking on the telephone became a constant battle.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It was a very frustrating impediment, as I seemed to be able to talk quite fluently to people I knew well and whom I felt comfortable with, but at other times especially under any form of pressure could not say a word.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;At the age of twenty two after about eleven months of sheer hard work and practice I managed to overcome the stutter and I now help other people who stutter to achieve fluency as well as helping people with confidence problems.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;MY LACK OF BELIEF&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I always had a lack of belief in certain areas.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I would notice a female in a bar for example and would want to go over and talk to her but would have the negative attitude of I’m not good enough, why would she be interested in me? I stutter, I have a bald patch, I have a menial job and I am very thin.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Even if I approach her and am successful, I would then be expected to buy her a drink, possibly phone her, possibly meet her parents, and maybe even get married! The thought of attempting these things with a stutter and with a lack of social confidence was far too daunting for me.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I left school at sixteen mainly due to a lack of confidence and the stutter, but then had the problem of finding a job. Again my lack of belief came shining through. Who would want to employ somebody with a stutter, who has a lack of confidence and who is shy around people?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;MY CAREER&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After leaving school at the age of sixteen I now had to find employment. Suffering with a stutter and a general lack of confidence meant that work involving the phone or regular interaction with other people were not really an option.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I decided that I could probably cope with filing duties in an office and eventually gained a position at an insurance company.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I started at the lowest grade, a grade two and the work was routine and mundane. The average time to stay at this level before being promoted was six months. The grade three post involved sharing a phone and this is something I found very difficult to use.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To become upgraded you had to apply in writing to the personal officer and then if you passed the interview were then promoted. My attitude was that if I don’t apply I would stay as a grade two, which is what I wanted. I was probably the only person in the country who did not want to be promoted.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My boss would ask me at regular intervals why I was not applying and I would make up an excuse. To keep him happy I took the insurance exams. After three years I had completed the first qualification which was a set of five exams. To my horror my boss congratulated me by stating that he was upgrading me to a grade three starting Monday without the need of an interview.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This promotion should in effect have given me a confidence boost however with my stutter out of control under the pressure and some of my colleagues mocking me I became more and more withdrawn and depressed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I would be invited to social events and would make up excuses of why I could not go as I had a lack of belief that I could cope with the occasion and all the socialising involved.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Leon Edward helps people improve in Leadership Development, Goal Setting, Success, Motivation, Self-Improvement, Happiness, Memory Improvement, Stress Reduction and more through his articles, blog posts and special reports . Find the good in everyone. Compliment others. Avoid starting or listening to gossip. Never ridicule, insult, or make fun of other people. Use positive words, always speaking about what you want and how you want things to be. Avoid suggesting motives or assigning judgments for other people’s actions and views. Consider: Discourtesy damages all relationships.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;5) Help others. Be a mentor for newcomers. Share ideas. Teach people skills that will help them excel. Work with a spirit of abundance. Seek win/win results. Let others speak first, even on issues where you are an expert. Give first without attaching a receipt for return favors. But let’s look past that fantasy and find out one of the most basic reasons why people become successful.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Right now, think of someone that you know personally who is successful. Can you see their face in your mind?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Good.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now ask yourself this question, “Does this person have a successful routine or set of habits that makes them successful?” I would be shocked if they didn’t.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sometimes the only difference between being successful and being average is having successful habits. Some examples of successful habits could be getting up earlier, doing thing when they need to be done, being prepared, or effective time management.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So how do you start to build these success habits in your life? Here are 4 tips on creating successful habits.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. Identify – Find the areas in your life that need changing. Write down these new habits that need to be formed. Don’t become overwhelmed at trying to figure out how you are going to form all of these habits.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2. Pick 2 – Most people sabotage themselves by trying to change everything at once. Instead, pick one major and one minor habit that you want to form. For the next 30-90 days these will be the success habits that you will create.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3. Start small – Now that you have your two success habits, create a daily or weekly routine that is easy to follow. For instance, let’s say that you want to wake up an hour earlier so that you can get more successful things done. Instead of setting your alarm an hour earlier right at the beginning, only set it 2-5 minutes earlier every morning until you reach your goal. This way it would take you 30 days or 12 days respectively to create your success habit.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Remember, the best way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;4. Repeat – Once you have created your new habits move on to the next 2 success habits that you want to create. Before you know it you will have created a whole new life full of success filled habits.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Just imagine where you will be in one year if you follow these four keys to creating successful habits. When you want to make sure that you don't need to worry about your body giving out on you, check out some of the things that you can do to prevent it from doing so.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The first step that you should take is that you should always be as active as you can.  No matter how old you are, there is always something that you can be doing.  Get as much exercise is appropriate for your body and always make sure that you eat right.  This alone can go a long way towards keeping you healthy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is not to say, however, that staying active is easy!  After all, we all know what those lazy days are like, where we want to do nothing at all.  We'd love to sit in front of the game, or play on the computer into the wee hours.  Maybe we just want to people watch or stare out the windows.  Some of us feel that having retired, we don't need to do anything and that we deserve to take some time out and relax.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;While that is all fair, remember that one of the most important parts of a healthy retirement is going to be staying active.  Even as you grow older, you'll find that staying active just gets more and more important.  Consult with your doctor and figure out what is going to be good exercise for you.  Your doctor is going to be the one who can tell you what exercise are going to be good for you and he or she might be able to point out some avenues that might have escaped you.  Finding the right exercise that really works for you and that really pleases you can be something of a chore, so get all the resources you can.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It doesn't matter what is happening in your life, staying active is going to be key.  So what if you can't ride a bike the way that you could have when you were a kid, or so what that you can't lift weights or play other sports. Remember that every little bit helps, even if you are just walking around the building or walking in circles at the mall. Remember that you should take every opportunity to be active and to enjoy your life that you can. Apply lotions or creams that will keep your skin looking and feeling soft.  Wash your hand often and remember that most germs are spread through touch. Washing your hands on a regular basis will keep them looking good, and it will keep you healthier in the long run. The basic tool for developing better memory is the "clustering" technique.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Examples of clustering include:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1.  Grouping by numbers, letters, physical characteristics, or categories&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2.  Grouping words and concepts that are related, or opposites&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3.  Grouping with mental pictures or subjective organization&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Data clustering improves memory by breaking information into more easily manageable pieces.  For example, consider a 10-digit phone number with area code.  By memorizing the numbers in groups of three or four, you'll be able to more easily access this data from your memory bank.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Word or concept clustering involves grouping words together in our minds to help us have better recollection.  This harnesses the power of association, in which one thought or suggestion leads you to recall another.  One example is word pair clusters.  These can be synonyms, antonyms, or associated words.  For example "fair" and "square", "man" and "woman".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Clustering through subjective organization uses categories, processes, devices, and associations to remember data.  For example, vocabulary words are often remembered in groups, based on the context in which they were discussed.  Remembering one word triggers the memory of an unrelated word with which it was somehow grouped or associated.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Let's take cooking as another example.  While there are a number of ingredients in a recipe, each one of these individual ingredients has no context by itself.  It's only through the process of combining each of these ingredients that the whole context takes shape.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In sum, use the following strategies to hone your memory:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1.  Reflect on the process of problem solving or contextualizing instead of trying to memorize facts out of context.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2.  Understand what techniques work best for you individually.  Do you work best with category clusters?  Or are you more visually driven?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3. It has helped many ordinary people achieve&lt;br /&gt;extraordinary results in their lives. It has turned many&lt;br /&gt;failures into successes. It has made many miracles happen&lt;br /&gt;in the history of human evolution. However, the majority of&lt;br /&gt;people who use affirmation find that it doesn’t work. Why&lt;br /&gt;is this the case? What are the elements that people have&lt;br /&gt;missed when they use affirmation techniques? I constantly&lt;br /&gt;ask myself these questions, and seek for the answers. The&lt;br /&gt;result is, no one book gives the complete answer. Some tips&lt;br /&gt;given in one book work for a specific situation, but not&lt;br /&gt;for others. Other books give other tips that work for other&lt;br /&gt;situations, but not for this. I have tested and filtered&lt;br /&gt;out the ineffective ones, and left only what I call the&lt;br /&gt;ultimate effective technique secrets.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The purpose of affirmation:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Before I give you the effective techniques, I must make you&lt;br /&gt;understand the true purpose of affirmation. Simply stated,&lt;br /&gt;the purpose of affirmation is to pass a command from the&lt;br /&gt;conscious mind to the subconscious mind. The subconscious&lt;br /&gt;mind has the ability, in anything it accepts as true, to do&lt;br /&gt;whatever it takes to turn it into reality. The purpose of&lt;br /&gt;an affirmation is to pass a message to the subconscious&lt;br /&gt;mind, and to make it believe the message is true. So this&lt;br /&gt;brings us to the first element of an effective affirmation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1.The affirmation must be believable to the subconscious&lt;br /&gt;mind&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Most of the affirmations people use, fail at this first&lt;br /&gt;stage. They tend to give an unrealistic message to the&lt;br /&gt;subconscious mind, hoping for a positive response. If you&lt;br /&gt;are financially broke, and you say to yourself “I earn&lt;br /&gt;$100,000 per year”, is this believable to your mind? If&lt;br /&gt;your body is totally out of shape, and you say to yourself&lt;br /&gt;“I am very attractive”, is this believable to your mind? I&lt;br /&gt;doubt it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What if you are currently broke, and you want to make&lt;br /&gt;$100,000 per year? What if you are out of shape, and you&lt;br /&gt;want to make yourself attractive? I find the best and&lt;br /&gt;easiest way is to use the word “I choose” in your&lt;br /&gt;affirmation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Instead of saying “I earn $100,000 per year.”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Say “I choose to earn $100,000 per year”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Instead of saying “I am very attractive”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Say “I choose to feel that people find me attractive”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Do you feel the difference?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2.The subconscious mind seeks for proof&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There is a misconception that the affirmation must be&lt;br /&gt;repeated thousands of times before it can be installed in&lt;br /&gt;the subconscious mind. This is not necessarily true. You&lt;br /&gt;can use the repetition method to embed your affirmation,&lt;br /&gt;but there is an easier way. It is, at the time you find the&lt;br /&gt;proof, state your affirmation. Many people stay in poverty&lt;br /&gt;because they associate pain with money. Whenever they spend&lt;br /&gt;their money, they think of their bills, loans etc. This&lt;br /&gt;will automatically lead to ultimate pain. It is the feeling&lt;br /&gt;you attach to money that makes you rich or poor.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How can we turn this to our advantage? Instead of feeling&lt;br /&gt;pain when spending money, what if we associate pleasure&lt;br /&gt;with it? Next time when you go out shopping, at the moment&lt;br /&gt;you take out your money or credit card, say this&lt;br /&gt;affirmation to yourself “I always have more than enough to&lt;br /&gt;spend.”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;See how you feel. This works because the subconscious mind&lt;br /&gt;sees the proof. As long as you have some money left in your&lt;br /&gt;pocket, this affirmation is always true, so the&lt;br /&gt;subconscious mind will believe it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How about if we combine the first and second methods&lt;br /&gt;together and make an affirmation like this: “I choose to&lt;br /&gt;feel that I always have more than enough to spend.” Say&lt;br /&gt;this at the time you spend your money. See how you feel.&lt;br /&gt;You don’t have to repeat it thousands of times, a few times&lt;br /&gt;of real life proof will make your subconscious mind believe&lt;br /&gt;it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3.The affirmation must trigger feelings&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A fact about the subconscious mind is that it does not&lt;br /&gt;speak in words, you can only communicate with it through&lt;br /&gt;feelings, and emotions. There are two methods that you can&lt;br /&gt;use to trigger your feelings. The first method is to use&lt;br /&gt;words that involve feelings. Words like “fun, enjoyable,&lt;br /&gt;comfortable, delightful” will work effectively. The second&lt;br /&gt;method is to use imagination. Visualize that the situation&lt;br /&gt;stated in your affirmation has already come true. See&lt;br /&gt;yourself in that situation and feel the feelings.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;4.The affirmation must obey the 3 Ps factor.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The 3 Ps are Positive, Present Tense, and Personal.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Affirmations must be stated positively. Instead of saying&lt;br /&gt;“I am not fat”, say “I choose to stay slim”. The reason for&lt;br /&gt;this is that before the mind knows the meaning of, “I am&lt;br /&gt;not fat”, it must think of what fat means first. So saying&lt;br /&gt;that statement will inevitably lead to the feeling of being&lt;br /&gt;fat.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Affirmations must be in the present tense. Many books&lt;br /&gt;mention this. However, I only agree to some extent. If you&lt;br /&gt;say “I have a luxury car”, your mind will not believe you.&lt;br /&gt;The reason I include this here is that once it is combined&lt;br /&gt;with the first technique, it will work perfectly. Now say&lt;br /&gt;“I choose to have a luxury car”. Your mind will do its best&lt;br /&gt;to bring it into reality.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Affirmations must be personal. Your subconscious mind only&lt;br /&gt;works for you, not for others. If you say “Ann loves me”,&lt;br /&gt;it will not be effective, because you have no control over&lt;br /&gt;Ann. Now say “I choose to feel that Ann really loves me”.&lt;br /&gt;This time you are in control, because you can control your&lt;br /&gt;own feelings.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;5.Personal development affirmations should be stated in the&lt;br /&gt;comparative&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;“I am confident” may not be as effective as “I am becoming&lt;br /&gt;more and more confident”.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;An even better affirmation might be “I choose to feel more&lt;br /&gt;and more confident”.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The reason for using the comparative, is because there is&lt;br /&gt;no end to how much more confident you can become.&lt;br /&gt;Otherwise, your mind may think you are already confident&lt;br /&gt;enough, and it will not need to do any more work.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;These 5 techniques are the most effective ones that I have&lt;br /&gt;found from my research on affirmations. The brain responds to mental stimulation just like the body responds to regular exercise at the gym. Work out your brain regularly and keep it stimulated with new material and yes even new physical activities.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The diversity of mental stimulation is the driving force to a healthy and happy brain maximizing growth due to neuroplasticity. Cognitive challenges and brain exercises should be vigorous and varied. Mental activities effect different sections of the brain and more than one brain region each exercise. You may be solving a puzzle working on decision making, yet areas of the brain more involved in attention, focus or even perception will be strengthened to a degree. Do not get hooked on a certain kind of crossword puzzle or maybe even Sudoku. Change up our brain exercising with new puzzles and take advantage of the electronic games on cds or digital on the web.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Think of going to the gym again. You would not spend all your time in a gym doing curls would you? A balanced and diverse workout on a regular basis will give you the best overall gains in your health. A healthy and happy brain is desiring the same approach... Really&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;An important aspect of keeping your brain young is to challenge it. As mentioned the variety is of utmost importance but also the skill level changing can benefit you greatly. Real brain exercise requires an effort and you may even be physically drained afterwards.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Exercising regularity is of course a requirement but a rigorous brain exercise routine is not needed daily. Living longer and healthier has been proven in many studies but significantly in one of the Mayo clinic from back in 1984. Aerobic exercise for 45 minutes , just three times a week will result in improved reaction times. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After clearing this with your doctor, improve your circulatory system and intelligence by consistently jogging or walking six to eight miles per day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Brain enhancement as we age can be controlled as we have seen. Additionally, important steps can be taken. Stopping smoking, minimizing alcohol consumption, healthy weight control, getting enough sleep, regular exercise, satisfactory water consumption , eating a healthy breakfast are all keys to a happy and healthy brain as we age. This exercise should be both physical and mentally challenging. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Do not forget how to laugh. Laugh even more. Look for newsletters or comedies that will drive this daily. Simply look at a person's life and accomplishments or lack thereof, look at their relationships and maybe even their economical state on the surface if you can. You most likely will find a good correlation in a person's attitude, their outlook, beliefs, and actions with the circumstances in their lives. The thoughts of these people and the daily exposure to the books they read or don't, the movies they watch, the news , their spiritual beliefs or lack of, even relationships all led to beliefs embedded in their subconscious minds. These beliefs then led to actions so even though they may be consciously unaware, they have attracted their circumstances.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now look at your own life. You may say no way did I attract this life of mine. Maybe you have lived through failed relationships or have had debt just pile up. It could very well be that you were unaware of some detrimental programming of your subconscious. You may have had beliefs become a part of you at an early age or throughout your life that became a driving force for you where your own vibrations were not in harmony with the universe and subsequently led to an unfavorable condition. It is very possible that you focused intently on what you did not want and this in turn led to you getting more of the exact thing you did not want. This seems to be the little joke of the universe that whatever you concentrate on with a laser like focus , even negatively will become your reality. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sounds simple to control. Well it most certainly is not. Most people cannot intensely focus on a single thought , idea or even an object for just 17 seconds without an unrelated image or thought popping in your mind. However, your mind and thoughts can be trained to reprogram your subconscious to attain your deepest desires and dreams. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Again this is not so simple. It takes learning the steps and repeated practice . You'll need to recognize old unwanted negative programming and replaced it with positive thoughts and attaining your intended goals. Tools that can accomplish this for you are creative visualization, meditation and gratitude.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Creative visualization is basically consciously visualizing what you want as if you already have it or that it is your strongest intention. This can be accomplished through various methods as visual, auditory and kinesthetic . &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In the visual method, the person sees images in his mind. When a person uses this method, they see pictures and watch the whole event play out in their mind with each picture or image representing something. The auditory method is based on visualizing with words and sounds. In addition to the images mentioned in visualizing a person generates sounds to cause the right emotion to surface. The kinesthetic method relies on a persons emotions playing a dominant role reinforcing the visualization image. The person will actually imagine feeling the results and what it would be like once they have whatever it is they want manifested.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Choose one method that works for you and use it regularly. This is of utmost importance. This routine everyday is to train your mind and exercise your mind muscle so you can get used to it. After you are comfortable with one method, add another and then the third method. When you can practice al three regularly, you will begin to master creative visualization. A word of warning when you first start out, old images from your previous subconscious programming When you begin to visualize for the first time, and you see images come up in your mind , your previous subconscious programming may enter here and try to discourage you from continuing to see those images. Just ignore these voices inside you and concentrate on the new positive image only. With practice you will rid your subconscious of any old negative thoughts completely.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When you are in a state of gratitude, you are vibrating with the universe in a positive harmonious way and therefore whatever your event, condition, or circumstance you are focusing on will easily appear in your life. It is the unharmonious state that we want to avoid.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Meditation , lastly , is the best way to reprogram your subconscious. Once in the meditative state, you can reach the subconscious directly. You can communicate or even talk with your subconscious mind. Really, although it is often best to just relax and listen.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Meditation is a powerful tool and many very successful people use it every day with benefits as balancing you emotionally, mentally, and even physically, even having less stress, anxiety, depression and fewer mood-swings and more. The approach has many detractors, not the least of which are those who fail to understand that the old adage suggesting it takes money to make money may actually be suspended at will. After all, everyone knows that someone with $100,000 in the bank has a greater likelihood of making money than someone with little or nothing in the bank and a mortgage or rent payment that is overdue.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yet the law of prosperity effectively stands this notion on its head and it no longer is a viable concern. You want to plan out the steps you want to take now, and you want to make the best choices that life has to offer. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Get a pen and paper; we have lots of writing to do.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On that piece of paper, put a heading in the center: Mission/Vision. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Take some time to think about this. Take hours. Days. Weeks. It doesn’t matter, but give yourself a deadline. When you have thought it over, write down what you would want to achieve by the end of your life. What do you want to build your life around? Is it to attain certain educational milestones? Earn a certain amount of money? Be a philanthropist? State it under your Mission/Vision. This will be the center theme of your life. You can change it any time you want, but the entire list will be built around this.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Under Mission/Vision, divide the paper into two equal halves. One side will go to Short-term Goals. The other side will go to Long-term Goals.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Under the Short-term Goals, write down everything you want to get done within five years. Under Long-term Goals, write down the milestones you want throughout your life.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In the Short-term Goals, assign the deadlines by which you want these goals done. In the Long-term Goals, assign your age by which you would want to achieve these milestones.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now rewrite the entire list in chronological order, then examine your list. Commit to memory your Short-term Goals, and the Long-term Goals you have for this year. If you have trouble remembering your list, use a calendar. A paper one will do, but you can also use a computer program if you have one, or an application in whatever handheld gadget you have (a PDA or cellular phone with reminder or calendar applications would do fine).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The purpose of this exercise is for you to have a visual representation of your goals. Having a visual representation of your goals heightens the chances that you will commit to seeing them done. Knowing that you have concretized your plans gives you more resolution to stick to these.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But even if you have your plans on paper, you will need to remember that you have to be flexible. Life is fluid, and seldom goes according to plan. But if you really want to reach your goals, despite the shifts in life, you will always revert to your "blueprint" (the paper outline you just made).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Your Mission/Vision, as said earlier, will be the theme driving your choices. This will be the anchor when storms rock your life’s boat. The chain links of your anchor will be your personal values, principles, and your growth in character.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It would help if you would keep a diary to outline the life lessons you’ve learned, and your driving values and principles. When faced with dilemmas, revert to these. Your parents may have purchased a game for you to help develop your memory. All the cards were laid face down, and then you flipped a card over. Then you flipped a second card over. If it matched the first, the two cards were removed. The trick was to remember where certain cards were; hence the term memory game. As a child, you thought you were just playing a fun game, when in reality, you were learning to hone your memory.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Later on, you may even have watched a game show called “Concentration” where basically you were doing the same thing as in the childhood game. Only this time, the contestants won prizes. The incentives change, but the ultimate goal is the same—to keep the brain sharp.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In the past, doctors and scientists thought cognitive decline (losing of one’s memory) was simply the inevitable result of aging. According to him, the phrase, “Don’t worry, Be happy” depicts is that as a single if you want to be in happy mood and cheerful spirit, then all you need to do is stop worrying. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You can be as happy as you want to be. It’s up to you how happy you want to be. There are many ways to be happy in life including reading humorous novels, watching children’s channels, laughing at jokes and the like. Exercise and yoga can also provide you with great help in keeping you happy and joyful. It rejuvenates your body’s internal systems, helps it recover and gives you renewed energy by providing extra support of blood circulation.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Another great idea is be optimistic and think positive about your day-to-day approach to life. When you stay happy then all the stresses will go away automatically. We can make changes within ourselves to adapt to life’s patterns and circumstances. These kinds of people are always lucky, and can be considered a person wealthy in their own right.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Certain attitudes play an important role in being happy. These include gratitude for what you have, and expressing a natural kindness towards others. Forgive the young for their inexperience, and they will love you. Keep a giving and thankful attitude, and that will also make you and others happy, too.  Maintain a calm and peaceful temperament when a stressful situation occurs. This will make you happy and the other party will probably follow suit. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Just do it! You probably heard that religious people are more happy and carefree than others. The reason behind this bliss is that if they provide all their energy and strength to God, and in turn God gives them eternal happiness. Don’t hang around situations that are not working for you or that leave you open to disappointment. Stay away from people who bring you down and make you less than.. Lowering your self confidence destroys your happiness. If you are depressed, you can’t move forward, So, avoid putting yourself in the path unhappy people. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Punctuality and maintaining an on-time work habit will sometimes make you happy sometime. A famous Mathematician with a natural knack for philosophy by the name of Rene Descartes once said: “It is not enough to have a good mind. The main thing is to use it well.” Amazingly, we each have immense capacities when it comes to our minds. There are a number of powers that our minds have that we all must learn to tap from in order to discover our potential and help others in the world discover their potential. Unfortunately, most of us have a habitual habit of failing to implement the power that we possess. The first being the power that each of us possess – the power of a positive attitude! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I ran across an interesting fact recently. This fact regarded the amount of cells that each human brain has – on an average. Did you know that we each have approximately two hundred BILLION cells in the brain alone? Pretty intense cell count, huh? Well, then, I discovered that the average person will implement approximately 1% of these cells in their entire lifetime! This means, out of two hundred million cells, in our entire lifetime, we only use about two million! Imagine the potential that you have! You have one hundred and ninety eight brain cells that are active and just waiting to be put to use! This just goes to show how much power positive thinking can have on your life, others, and the world as a whole! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you want to increase the potential that you have, enjoy a positive outlook on life, share your perspective with others, or even change the world, you can! This can all be made possible by the power of positive thinking!
